Hey y’all, it’s me, Michael.
I’m a 27-year-old conceptual portrait photographer based out of Raleigh, N.C. I met Benjamin, my husband, in Michigan and moved here a few years ago so we could get out of the cold. Now we spend our time playing board games, cuddling our two cats, exploring North Carolina, and planning our future together.
I started my journey with photography when I found Benjamin’s old camera. I knew right from the start that I wanted to be a photographer. I felt right at home walking through the woods capturing nature, but I quickly fell in love with portraits and capturing people’s emotion. I’m completely self-taught through watching YouTube videos and searching for tips on google. Because I am self-taught, I have approached photography with a fun perspective and I lack the rules taught to most artists. In my journey I built a community of photographers through hosting large gatherings, called meetups, between photographers and models. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 I was unable to continue with such large gatherings.
Since then I’ve grown into a successful photographer and content creator that travels all over the United States. I’m living out my dreams capturing moody portraits and conceptual stylized photos. My main focus is fashion, branding, graduation, and building portfolios. My goal is to start creating new and unique experiences for others and creators.
